Avatar Days
A body switch mockumentary about the bizarre lives of ordinary people trapped as computer game alter egos in the all-too-real world.
A handful of people around the world have become fully consumed by their gaming Avatars. With their human bodies switched, they now walk the earth as Cyborgs, Minotaurs and Warlocks. But, they are devoid of extraordinary powers despite their extraordinary appearance. One year after the switch we encounter our Avatars through the curious lens of the documentary makers, as they navigate the mundane realities of their lives – work, family, sex, assembling flat-pack furniture, taking drugs by mistake at a party – the usual stuff. All the while dealing with prejudice and unpredictable reactions from normal humans.
Using our bespoke performance capture pipeline and actual game avatars from Epic Games Paragon, Avatar Days is a comedy of awkwardness and the familiar. Sometimes sweet and often filthy, our characters deal with love and sex with a sharp and brutally honest wit.
