Triple Value

It started with a unique casting call. There are not many triplets in Ireland, let alone identical triplets but our latest SuperValu spot with TBWA required just such an exotic find. Having turned this country (and others) upside down we were stoked to find the perfect trio hiding out in Dundalk. The Crimmins sisters were a blast from start to very late finish and with instore footage of the girls in the can, it was time to get zany with some eye popping graphics.

With SuperValu offering three key savings mechanisms, we thought it would be only right to work with three different illustrators to conjure wacky value GFX which inject some fun and imagination into the retail message. Not for minimalist shrinking violets, this one. Animation was created with cel drawn techniques, some toon shaded 3D and of course After Effects to realize an unashamedly 2D style to shout about the triple shenanigans.

Considering we started with the assumption we’d have to composite the final meetup of the three with twins and a stand-in, this was a great win for exhaustive casting. Under SuperValu’s ‘Real Food, Real People’ slogan, we were chuffed to work with genuine triplets and show that sometimes mother nature trumps VFX!
