Kim is a swashbuckling epic adventure where a savvy Indian street kid becomes an unlikely spy and the apprentice of a Shaolin Monk, in a comical and colorful adventure of self-discovery.
Kim is an adaptation of Kipling’s classic novel into a family feature film - a broad, bold and impactful action adventure for co-viewing. Teaming up with kickass child spy Maddy, the unlikely trio embark on a Kung-Fu odyssey to help Teshoo. They encounter many colorful characters, treacherous villains, resulting in action packed sequences, fights and close calls along the way. As their bond becomes stronger, Teshoo’s true intentions are revealed and their journey ultimately becomes about helping Kim find his family, discover who he is and where he truly belongs.
‘Kim’ is written by the famous Nobel Laureate Rudyard Kipling, author of ‘The Jungle Book’. Irish studio Piranha Bar and Indian studio Cosmos-Maya (‘Angry Birds Slingshot’ - Netflix, ‘Dogtanian and The Three Muskehounds’ - Netflix Movies, ‘Still Water’ - Apple+TV) are co-producing the film. The adaptation is being developed with the multi-award winning Indian director Ketan Mehta, with over 25 films under his belt (Mirch Masala, Bhavni Bhavai, Sardar) and internationally acclaimed US script writer Jim V. Hart (‘Muppets Treasure Island’, ‘Hook’, ‘Bram Stoker's Dracula’, ‘Epic’). Complimenting these seasoned movie veterans, Piranha Bar brings a fresh perspective and a contemporary design acumen to the project, taking the lead on the look of the film.
