VFX Breakdown
It was a privilege to work on this vital spot for Government Agency Cuan which is dedicated to tackling and reducing domestic, sexual and gender based violence. Our brief was to represent the inner feelings of a sexual violence survivor externally, recognising and articulating this experience and highlighting services that contribute to healing outcomes.
After a lengthy casting process, we found a fantastic actor who embodies strength and resilience while revealing her disconnection with subtlety and intelligence.
We developed advanced fog effects with AI and digital compositing which cloak each shot in all-pervading fog. Our hero is literally ‘in a fog’ and this effect becomes a visual representation, along with surreal lens effects, of her dissociation and isolation.
The final film is a testament to a huge team working together to create this important statement. For us this is a dream brief where direction, performance and VFX unite to create a vital social message – this society cares about the victims of sexual violence and is committed to zero tolerance of sexual violence in all forms.
